Territory requirements | Applications are NOT accepted from the following territories (based on citizenship): European Union. This procedure applies to foreign citizens from non-EU countries who wish to enroll in bachelor’s and master’s programs organized at Politehnica University of Timișoara, as well as in the Romanian language preparatory year at UPT. |

Language requirements | English If you do not have an English language certificate such as TOEFL, Cambridge, IELTS, LCCI, TRINITY ISE, ECL, you may take an online test at the INTERLINGUA Center of UPT. Please note that this process may take approximately three weeks. The application process cannot proceed until you receive your test result and upload it here. Additionally, a fee of 40 EUR plus transfer fees applies. Native speakers — Candidates coming from countries where the official language is the same as the language of instruction are exempt from this test, provided they can present official school documents proving that they studied in that language for at least two years. |

Overview
Offered by the Politehnica University Timișoara, this four-year undergraduate programme (240 ECTS) aims to train highly qualified engineers in the field of Electronics, Telecommunications, and Information Technologies. It has been officially running since 2005.
Courses are taught primarily by professors from the Departments of Communications, Applied Electronics & Measurements, and Optoelectronics. The programme provides a strong foundation in electronic devices and circuits, signal processing, embedded systems, microprocessors, telecommunications, multimedia technologies, and software development. Students gain both technical and transversal competencies, including teamwork, project management, adaptability to new technologies, and continuous professional development.
Graduates are equipped to design, implement, and maintain modern telecommunication systems and services, and to work with both fixed and mobile telecom equipment. The curriculum also encourages early engagement in scientific research and supports progression to master’s and doctoral studies.
Specialization areas include analog and digital electronics, data acquisition systems, high-frequency circuits (microwave and optical), power electronics, medical electronics, computer networks, multimedia technologies, and communication security. The programme is tailored to meet the demands of the labor market, especially in the ICT sector, and aims to foster innovation, analytical thinking, and interdisciplinary collaboration
