Required Documents for Admission to Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Programs

Complete checklist of documents


Non-EU citizens who wish to apply for Bachelor’s or Master’s studies at Politehnica University Timișoara must submit a complete application file that complies with the requirements established by the Romanian Ministry of Education and the University.

Below you will find the full list of required documents for the academic year 2025–2026, structured by level of study. All documents must be submitted in the correct format, with certified translations and authentication (where applicable). Failure to comply with these requirements may result in the rejection of the application.

Bachelor’s Degree Programs

The application file shall comprise the following documents:

1. Application for the issuance of the letter of acceptance for studies (ANNEX 6) – fully filled in, dated and signed;

2. Baccalaureate diploma or its equivalent – copy and legally certified translation (in Romanian, English or French).

3. Transcripts of academic records – copies and legally certified translations, afferent to the studies completed;

4. Certificate attesting the graduation of the Romanian language Preparatory Year (for study programmes taught in Romanian) or English language certificate (for study programmes taught in English), as applicable;

5. Copy and legally certified translation of the birth certificate;

6. Copy and legally certified translation of the marriage certificate or other documents attesting the change of name (if applicable);

7. Copy of a valid document attesting permanent residence. The document must clearly show the full address and attest the permanent residence (e.g. ID, residence permit, utility bill, etc.). If it is a declaration or a certificate, it must not be older than 6 months. If it is an identity document, it must be valid at the time of submission;

8. Copy of the passport;

9. Medical certificate (in a widespread international language) attesting that the person to be registered for studies does not suffer from contagious diseases nor other deficiencies incompatible with the future profession. The certificate must be issued no more than 6 months prior to the application date;

10. Consent statement regarding the agreement for the processing of personal data. Consent is freely given, either via the apply.upt.ro platform or through ANNEX 7, in case the application file is submitted in person;

11. Proof of payment of the file processing fee (100€/file).

Master’s Degree Programs

The application file shall comprise the following documents:

1. Application for the issuance of the letter of acceptance for studies – fully filled in form, dated and signed (ANNEX 6)

2. Baccalaureate diploma or its equivalent – copy and legally certified translation (in Romanian, English or French). The document shall be authenticated by the competent authorities in the issuing country;

3. Bachelor’s degree diploma or its equivalent – copy and legally certified translation (in Romanian, English or French). The document shall be authenticated by the competent authorities in the issuing country;

  • Copy and legally certified translation of the certificate attesting the successful passing of the bachelor’s degree examination for graduates of the current year if the original diploma has not yet been issued;
  • The interruption between the end of the applicant’s last studies (i.e. the date the last diploma was obtained) and the current year of application should not exceed 5 years. By applying despite not meeting this requirement, the candidate accepts the risk of rejection by the faculty and/or the risk of not obtaining a visa.

4. Transcripts of academic records/ Diploma supplements – copies and legally certified translations, afferent to the studies completed;

5. Certificate attesting the graduation of the Romanian language Preparatory Year (for study programmes taught in Romanian) or English language certificate (for study programmes taught in English), as applicable;

6. Copy and legally certified translation of the birth certificate;

7. Copy and legally certified translation of the marriage certificate or other documents attesting the change of name (if applicable);
