Overview

The Faculty of Management in Production and Transportation is a relatively new entity within the Politehnica University of Timișoara, established in 1996. It represents an almost unique example from an organizational and functional perspective among technical universities in Romania, due to its educational offer focused largely on the field of Engineering and Management, while also addressing aspects of public administration management.

The faculty plays a significant role in the development of the regional and national economy, as well as in supporting public administration and other sectors both in Romania and abroad.

The value and competencies of its graduates are confirmed by the large number of alumni who have started and grown their own businesses, built successful careers in national and multinational companies in Romania and abroad, worked in universities and research institutes, or hold key positions in local and central public administration.

This program’s mission is to meet the students needs for development of specific competences of the study program, creating the necessary interface for applying the courses (fundamental, domain, complementary and of specialty) from the economical domain to engineering in industrial field. Students will develop their abilities, management knowledge specialization necessary in research and practice for obtaining performance and success in their professional career.
The programme objectives are:

  • to provide graduates with engineering and management knowledge, theoretical and practical, useful for a professional career in industrial field.
  • to form management skills for accomplishing organizational tasks and for strategic management abilities development.
  • to develop personal and professional competences for managerial performance
  • to offer training for flexibility and adaptability development in various organizational environments, in multidisciplinary and cultural diversity conditions.

The programme addresses students who pursue engineering and management oriented professional careers in all kind of organizations: companies, public institutions or non-profit organizations.
