Entry qualification

High school / secondary education (or higher) All applicants for bachelor’s degree programs must hold a baccalaureate or an equivalent diploma. As part of the application process, the applicants will be required to upload : a copy and a legally certified translation of the diploma. The document shall be authenticated by the competent authorities in the issuing country OR a copy and a legally certified translation of the certificate attesting the successful passing of the Baccalaureate examination for graduates of the current year if the original diploma has not yet been issued AND Transcripts of academic records Admission criteria Baccalaureate diploma or its equivalent Artistic studies or baccalaureate with the mathematics or physics test passed with a minimum of 7.5 Ranking criteria Baccalaureate grade or its equivalent The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / French / Romanian. Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original. You must take the original entry qualification documents along with you when you finally go to the university.

Territory requirements	Applications are NOT accepted from the following territories (based on citizenship): European Union. This procedure applies to foreign citizens from non-EU countries who wish to enroll in bachelor’s and master’s programs organized at Politehnica University of Timișoara, as well as in the Romanian language preparatory year at UPT.

Language requirements

Romanian Upload a language certificate proving a proficiency level of at least B1 according to the CEFR. If you do not have a Romanian language certificate, you may: Apply for the Romanian language preparatory year at UPT OR Upload a certificate confirming the completion of the Romanian language preparatory year OR Upload study documents (diplomas) or school records certifying at least four consecutive years of study conducted in Romanian at a school within the Romanian national education system.

Overview

With a 6-year study period, achieved by integrating the bachelor with the master degree, the architecture specialty offers a holistic view of the complex parameters that define the architectural practice. During the 12 semesters, students gain theoretical, esthetical and technological knowledge in both architecture and urban design, as well as from the related and complementary fields of fine arts, human sciences, engineering and technology, all of which provide adequate knowledge to match the demands of the future clients.

The theoretical information gained during each year is linked with real practical activities during summer, when the faculty offers a wide array of choices: different field trips, architecture or urban planning workshops, short term internships in architectural offices or on selected building sites. All these activities aim to give our students a first, unmediated contact with the realities of the architectural field.

Students may apply to study at partner universities or to be interns in offices abroad under the Erasmus programme.

The Diploma project can tackle either a general complex architectural design, a rehabilitation or restoration of an existing building / site or an urban design project.

Career opportunities

The complex nature of the architecture profession, including that of interior architect, combines artistic and technical elements and requires integrated training. Over time, it shapes professionals capable of handling a wide range of activities. The skills acquired enable our graduates to pursue diverse career paths—within the profession as architects, urban planners, or specialists in furniture and interior design, as well as beyond it, in public administration and spatial planning, project management, or related fields where specific competencies are developed: graphic and industrial design, scenography, urban studies, theory, and criticism.
