Overview
“Pharmaceutical, Cosmetic and Food Products – Expertise and Quality (FCA)” is the only master’s programme of its kind in Romania, integrating three fields — pharmaceuticals/medicines, cosmetics/perfumes, and food — through an interdisciplinary approach.
Graduates of this engineering-focused programme will be trained to assess quality along production chains, in research and development, in laboratories and specialized units for analysis and expertise, as well as in institutions, research institutes, or specialized agencies at the national level and within the European Union.
Economic stakeholders in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and food industries from Romania’s Western and Central regions, as well as from the European Union, have shown great interest and have contributed to the development of the FCA Master’s programme at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology and Environmental Protection, Politehnica University of Timișoara (UPT), due to its highly relevant study areas, such as:
- EU Directives / Patents
- GMP / GLP (Good Manufacturing / Laboratory Practices)
- Chromatography, Spectroscopy & Microbiology
- Analysis & Testing
- Bioactive Ingredients
- Authenticity, Counterfeits & Fraud
- Stability & Toxicity
- Biosecurity & FCA-Vigilance
