Entry qualification

Undergraduate diploma (or higher) All applicants for master’s degree programmes should hold a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent diploma. A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and City Planning, Engineering, Visual Arts, Geography or Sociology is required for admission to this programme. As part of the application process, the applicants will be required to upload : a copy and legally certified translation (in Romanian, English or French). The document shall be authenticated by the competent authorities in the issuing country OR a copy and legally certified translation of the certificate attesting the successful passing of the bachelor’s degree examination for graduates of the current year if the original diploma has not yet been issued AND Transcripts of academic records/ Diploma supplements – copies and legally certified translations, afferent to the studies completed. AND a copy and a legally certified translation (in Romanian, English or French) of the Baccalaureate diploma. The document shall be authenticated by the competent authorities in the issuing country. The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / French / Romanian. Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original. You must take the original entry qualification documents along with you when you finally go to the university.

Territory requirements	Applications are NOT accepted from the following territories (based on citizenship): European Union. This procedure applies to foreign citizens from non-EU countries who wish to enroll in bachelor’s and master’s programs organized at Politehnica University of Timișoara, as well as in the Romanian language preparatory year at UPT.

Language requirements

Romanian Upload a language certificate proving a proficiency level of at least B1 according to the CEFR. If you do not have a Romanian language certificate, you may: Apply for the Romanian language preparatory year at UPT**OR** Upload a certificate confirming the completion of the Romanian language preparatory year**OR** Upload study documents (diplomas) or school records certifying at least four consecutive years of study conducted in Romanian at a school within the Romanian national education system.

Overview

This master programme is addressed to all university graduates with an interest in the field of heritage conservation. Potential candidates may include young graduates from fields such as Architecture, Landscape Design, Public Administration, Geography, Archaeology, etc., who are seeking to specialize professionally in restoration. The programme also targets professionals already working in the restoration field who wish to deepen their knowledge and enhance their expertise.

The programme spans 2 years (4 semesters) and includes lectures, seminars, projects, and a final dissertation exam.

• History, theory, and methods of restoration
• Investigative survey and restoration project development
• Restoration and regeneration project context – spatial, social, and cultural studies
• Professional practice in the field of restoration and environmental regeneration
• Restoration and regeneration project management
• Performing professional tasks with integrity, ethics, and in compliance with legal standards, in order to uphold the reputation of the profession
• Identifying, describing, and implementing project management processes, taking on team roles, and clearly and concisely presenting results verbally and in writing, both in Romanian and in an international language
• Demonstrating creativity, initiative, and action in updating professional, economic, and organizational knowledge
